Training Centre in Communication (TCC Africa) was pleased to host the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) academic community for a workshop on ‘Using Open Access AI in Improving Health Research & Academic Publishing Lifecycle’. Through this collaborative endeavor, participants were introduced to Open Access Research Discovery and AI tools, Dimensions by Digital Science, the Open Research Library (ORL) by Knowledge Unlatched, and Scholarcy. This was the second training hosted for the Academic Community by TCC Africa and had over one thousand two hundred (1200) registered participants.

The workshop featured practical sessions where participants were offered hands-on demonstrations on how to effectively integrate each of these tools into their research workflows. The emphasis was placed on the tools' capabilities to streamline their processes and enhance the visibility and accessibility of their research outputs. By actively engaging in these sessions, participants gained valuable insights into the practical implementation of Dimensions, Scholarcy, and the Open Research Library enabling them to optimize their research processes and enhance the reach of their scholarly work.

About the Organizers

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology is a public university located in Juja, Kenya. It was established in 1981 as a middle-level college and was later elevated to a university in 1994. The university is named after Jomo Kenyatta, the first President of Kenya.
